Olive Tree

I recently noticed a green moss forming on my Olive Trees. They have been in their pots for a few months now and receive a great deal of light given their position. Can anyone advise what might cause the moss to form and how to stop its growth please.

I know it's a late reply, but the moss/algae is a cosmetic issue and won't hurt the trees. It's due to moisture in the air, so you can't really do anything about it anyway.
