My wife has an interest in art and will trade her art to other artists for a piece of their art. So, at some point in time, this okra art arrived and took its place in the kitchen. I infrequently look up and see a new arrival as I wander about the house. It seems to be a silent process, and usually related to an art show Becky has either organized or attended.

Even commissioned a "cartoonie" painting of my husband's muscle car.. the 70's rocked !
I also like art deco... well pretty much anything creative

and this one is called "Morning sun"

I have many more originals and as you can see, I love bright colours.

Oh, Lori - Love your mermaid light! Enchanting and uplifting and sexy as well! Did it cost you a lot? Well worth it. Stunning.. running out of superlatives now.

DM: Nice to have an artist in the house! You must share your beloved Becky's artworks please!

@alp I got her at an auction. Well, the second auction. At the first one where I spied her I believed that they had "one of their own" bidding against me so I let them "win" it. Low and behold she turned up at the next month's. The fellow who runs around prompting higher bids stood next to me again and I could see him also glancing at the same fellow again - so I just told him what my top price was and they could keep her if they went over it. Funny how the bidding stopped with my final predetermined bid. Yes, she was expensive but sometimes there are things that enchant me. Years ago when she could be seen from the front door, little boys would come around to say hello and try to get a peep of her boobs. Too funny!

I would peep at every bit of hers! And would ask my son to hug her! So beautiful - It's an heirloom! It's not a flower which will die .. Well worth it.:D

She's very good! Quarky and bold. DM: Will the gourd break over time! They all look so hard. Wonder how people preserve it as objets d'art!

I am sure your beloved Becky makes a fine housewife. My neighbour's wife was like that. She had an arty flair! Shame she had been bedridden for 10 years!

Think your beloved Becky should try her hand at Chinese Calligraphy! She's very good. Full of confidence, bold and interesting!
