Nosey neighbors reporting me

Hello I am a renter in townhome downtown Pittsburgh, we also have an hoa. I am getting threats from new neighbors about my moon flowers on the fence and say I shouldn’t be allowed to be digging up my whole yard. I am worried I may have to move. Has anyone ever delt with dis issue and how did you deal?

Well, what do the covenants say. If you aren't breaking any covenants, they can complain all they want. If there is some strange rule about it, then there isn't much you can do. But just flowers along a fence line is hard to imagine being against any covenants. But make sure you know them well. ALWAYS read and understand any covenants before buying in a HOA!

Unless I owned the property, I would be using pots. It is expensive and difficult to recreate a long term garden and pots help that issue. Plus as conditions change, the plants are more easily repositioned for temperature or light reasons.

I grow moon flowers every year and they are a good looking vine, with heart-shaped leaves; I can't imagine what their problem is with it....

This just reinforces my conviction for two guiding virtues I live by...
1. Never say Never.
2. I will Never live in a HOA neighborhood...

As others have said get a copy of the rules. If there isn't a rule against it then let them pound sand.
