Hello,

We purchased a house that has 32 fruit trees and planting areas. We do not have gardening experience, but are trying.

This is our second summer. Last summer our raspberries and trees, especially the cherry trees, were destroyed by North American Rose Chafers.

I was desperately trying not use herbicides or pesticides, but I've learned that we do not have a choice with respect to the Chafers.

It looks like Carbaryl/Sevin is what is required.

Can anyone provide guidance on how to use this product? what to do, what not to do, when to apply, how best to apply - especially do not want to kill or disrupt any bees or other desirable insects.

Thanks.

Although I cannot personally advise you on this problem as our pest problems are so different in the UK, I would like to say welcome to the forums, and I daresay one of your fellow countrymen will be along to give the answers you need.
We applaud you for the desire to garden organically as we try to (y)(y)(y)
