Gardeners are often faced with the challenge of conserving water in their farms especially in arid areas. A simple method of conserving water is to simply dig the planting hole on the ground and leave the rest of the ground intact. This would ensure that only a small proportion of the ground is opened up exposing less surface area to the drying action of the sun. Weeds are also simply pulled out of the ground.

Well that is interesting to know. I am sure there all kinds of water tricks that are put forth in the West. I mean you have to do what you can in those arid areas. I am sure there are many things that could happen like the use of rain barrels and so forth..These are the options that people can do when they live in an area that is excessively dry.
