I am not sure what I did. I planted 8 strawberry plants 2 days ago on the side of my house. I dug up all the dirt, removed the large rocks and mixed organic mulch in with the dirt. I fertilized with 5-5-5 fertilizer. When I had a soil test done prior to today, my nitrogen and potassium were way low.
I got the plants from a local nursery at about 6pm at night. I was not able to plant them that night and when I woke up the next morning they were starting to wither in the pots.
I hurried and planted them the next day around noon and watered them in the ground. Yesterday they were withered even more. I watered a again to keep roots wet and today they are all but dead it seems. Not sure what I needed to do better.
We are in a heat wave, yesterday’s high was 95 degrees. 93 today, but I assumed since they were in the greenhouse they would be more adapted to the weather.
because they started withering before I planted them (were not dry in pot) I assume it’s the sun and temperature and not my soil. But not too sure
