Thanks everyone ! Beth, actually I've been very fortunate in that that one garden is the only one with a massive problem with crabgrass. The soil here is very rich and my other gardens have really thrived. Even the garden with crabgrass has been bountiful. We also had a record dry summer. I picked a bad year to GO BIG! LOL! I went out nightly with my flashlight using two of the world's longest water hoses trying to keep everything alive and well. I put in the massive garden on the bank, two large gardens at the end of the house that was actually two steep banks, 2 circular gardens on either side of the driveway, one large dry creek bed garden at the drain out by the road, a large rock garden at the front entry, one very long garden that runs the full length of the house out back, a small garden at the other end of the house, and numerous shade gardens under the pines that run the length of the property. I re-did an old shed that was on the property and planted gardens all around it. It came out great! I planted 4 trees and 3 lilac bushes, several rose bushes and there is clematis all over the place.. It's been crazy, but so much fun!! I love gardening apparently and am looking forward to tweaking what I've already begun and learning from the veterans that I'll meet here. I'll see if I can get soume pics uploaded soon. I have just simple beginner plants, nothing exotic yet. Oh, and I incorporated a lot of yard art pieces, old wagon wheels, a vintage water pump, an old rusty obelesk, an old wooden ladder, antique lanterns, chair planters, etc. I live in the country. I've had so much fun!
