New Lawn

In the Richmond Virginia area. I planted a new lawn, (Kentucky 31). I have read two things about mowing the first time. 1. Wait until mowing height, 4" or more. 2. Wait 6 - 8 weeks. Average grass height now is about 6". Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Go cut it to 4 inches. when it grows back to 5 it will be cut to 3.5 and then when it grows to 4 cut it to 3.
