New lawn

My old lawn is very uneven and full of weeds. I have been given some Rosate weedkiller and told that if i spray the old lawn with it I can re lay turf on top of it after spraying. I have been told that there are different strenght ratios of weedkiller to water. Canm anyone help

That is a glysophate weedkiller, so will kill the grass and the weeds, if that is the way you really want to go,it is not instant and you will not see any results for about 2 weeks.

Now as for just laying turf on top,you can,after you have prepared the soil, which means turning it over and levelling.

That is crucial.

But it would be best left till September in the UK ,more wet and warm for the turf to take,
