New foliage plant not looking happy.

Hello, I hope you can advise me as this plant was a gift and I really would like to save it. All the lower leaves are drooping and this is progressing fast upwards. A florist told me yesterday to try immersing it in a bowl of water but it seems worse now. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can offer.

Peut-être trop arrosé? Avez-vous examiné les racines?
Unfortunately underwatering and overwatering often look the same :/
