Need help identifying adopted plant

Hi everyone , new here but was hoping you guys could help me identify this potted plant . Unfortunately a relative passed and this was one of there plants so we are trying to figure out what it is before we end up killing it . Any help will be much appreciated . You can tell it is really distressed and we are not sure what to do . It was on an outside patio in central arizona where it regularly reaches 100 degrees so we figured it would be fine in a place like phoenix . Any way here it is
