Hi All,

I live in Queensland , Australia were our average summer temps are 30C days / 22C nights.....

I am in need of urgent help as i have been away overseas and i got back a few days ago and something has attacked my hedge which i have had for over 10 years without any problems ..... it appears to be dying in various spots and when i look at the branch's there is a white powdery stuff all over them..... I don't want to lose this hedge and any help would be grateful..

We really need to see a close-up picture of the white stuff to see what it is. It could be one of a few things.

Its freeze damage or caused by drought. Cut the dead out and give it a good watering. Airiate the soil with a hand cultivator around the roots and keep the soil loose between waterings. Water your hedges more often after you prune out the dead. Shouldn't be a problem friend.

That is insects, probably a type of scale but I can't enlarge the photo enough to determine exactly which one. I am almost positive it is a soft scale. Spray the ENTIRE plant with either FRESH Neem Oil or Insecticidal Soap every 5-7 days for 3 weeks.
