Moon Flower

I planted this from seed this spring in my butterfly garden. It is spreading throughout the bushes i have grown into trees. They are about 4" blooms. They bloom late evening and during the night. I am thrilled with them and plan to spread them around my gardens.

I grow them every year. I save the seeds, because I've seen them fall to the ground and germinate, but since it was too early in the season, the cold killed them; it's also best to soak the seeds overnight before planting to soften up the seed's coating. They attract night pollinators, much of which are moths, every night I get tons of Hawk Moths in my yard. The night time pollinators lay tons of eggs and caterpillars are a food source for other animals.
