Hi, just moved into a house with beds that have not been maintained. I would like to have some kind of monkey grass for a border. What is happening here? Should I tear this all out and start over? Thanks!
Thanks so much! I'll just plant some different annuals in the bare spots.Next year, when that decision is made and your plants identified, you may choose a product like Image kills Nutsedge which is rated for various liriopes like variagated and giant. Monkey grass can be clumpy over years and benefits from a replanting now and then so digging is very possibly the first best choice.
Darn.. I'm itching to start seeing something happening.. lolWelcome to the forum
As a general rule, I would always advise anyone with a new garden to wait for a season and watch what grows. Just keeping the place tidy and checking the weeds is good.
This way, with a little patience you can plan a real start in the following season. The thing is, if you go tearing everything out at the start, you could destroy plants it would have been advantageous to keep.
Good luck with your new patch!
Lol...you said itching...new yard..yep The dermatitus forecast is high risk!Darn.. I'm itching to start seeing something happening.. lol
In case...grease cutting dish detergent and a wash rag in a timely fashion saves hours of itching. I bathe in Dawn then regular.Oh boy! Can't wait.. New city, New house in the woods, it's gonna be Special. Break out the benadryl and cortisone.. lol
