Meyer lemon tree problems

Hi,

Any idea what may be happening to our tree? There's this brown/black film on some of the branches and some of the newer branches have completely dried out:

This looks like one of two things. Either root damage from repotting or more likely root rot.
Take the plant out of the container and inspect the roots for rot. Smell the soil around the roots. If it smells bad the soil is bad. This comes with too much water too often.. If the roots look bad and/or the soil is bad wash off ALL of the soil around the roots and repot in a top quality potting mix. Then use Super Thrive as directed.

Thanks so much Chuck! We were over-watering the tree. It sits close to a sprinkler head and it was getting more water than it needed. We moved it away from the head and changed our watering schedule and just like that the tree came back to life. It's got a ton of new shoots!
