.......I let "complicated", extravagant planting instruction keep me from planting an asparagus bed.....before 65.....Moral : just do it.....

Hilarious! If you thin them out, next time you should have a bumper group! Or you can have another bed. By the look of it, they like it your way! I sowed the seeds of a 7 year old asparagus packet and everyone of them germinated. But as I have been thinking of moving, I just left them in a polystyrene tray and guess what, they overwintered. I just planted them out.
