Greetings….
My daughter had a eureka lemon on her property that was very productive with beautiful lemons.
I drink a lot of iced tea, and am always looking for lemons.
I brought home a dozen or so lemons, and saved the seeds.
After planting the seeds (7 years later) I have 7 or 8 mature lemons that are very productive, and produce lemons that are identical ( or as close as nature allows) to the parent tree fro years ago.
My question ( a real head scratcher) is
that I have collected seeds from the 7 or 8 offspring trees (that are very productive) planted them, and a month later have seen nothing.
1st generation beautiful healthy trees
2nd generation seeds “nada”
Any ideas?
Am I spinning my wheels?
Thanks in advance
Sandy

Thanks for the post friend. Lemon seed are generally easy to germinate. You need to soak the seed for 24 hrs before planting. Also, use containers for germination and not directly in the ground. I use dixie cups with a good organic potting mix. The seeded cups need heat to sprout, so ensure you keep the temps warm. Once you see a sprout cut the water and turn on the light or put them in the Sun. When the seedlings get its true leaves you can plant in the soil outdoors. Good luck and keep us posted friend.
