Any ideas of how much it'd cost to have a lawn irrigation system installed? (approx. 1500 square ft. yard)

The problem is that this is a board with contributors from many countries, so it's not possible to give a difinitive answer unless there's someone with the knowledge who only live a few miles away from you.
Here in the UK we tend to have much smaller gardens, like ours. I installed this system which works off mains pressure nearly ten years ago using speed-fit pipe for the equivalent of about seventy dollars.
