landscape design program?

I used to work for a landscaping installation company and the owners wife would use some computer program to make some pretty nifty designs. It would print out a rendering of how the plants would look and made it real simple to see how the end product of the layout would look.

Now that I have a half acre that I'd like to landscape, and some pretty crazy ideas, paper and pencil aren't really helping me figure out how the ideas would look together. Anyone have any idea what program she was using?

I too used a landscaping program to design a big project I did awhile ago. I'm pretty good with drawing things in my head, but this project the client needed to see what my vision was.
