Lady of the Night

I live in central Florida. I was give a Lady of theNight that I am in love with. The plant fell this morning and I am really upset. Although is almost late autumn I have read that they are in a period of “resting” at this season. I lost about 5 leafs. I am afraid is been to traumatic for the plant. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks

Which Lady of the Night is it? Cactus, Orchid, shrub? Many plants that have strongly scented flowers at night are called Lady of the Night.
