Planted 12 weeks ago, regularly maintained. Top potatoes small, unable to feel any further down at the moment. I was wondering when to know if they need to be dug up. Top stems looking incredibly sorry for themselves.

Are you feeding them Sarah?

They're a maincrop so should be left in till about september.

I've only been watering them, it's my first time at a main crop. Usually I do new potatoes.

I was worried incase of blight.

Four weeks.
Maincrop potatoes in the UK are usually 18-22 week maturity, but KEs are an early maincrop, so may be worth harvesting at 16 weeks.
Spray with aspirin, 150mg/l water followed the next day by molasses, 20g/l water, for blight, every two weeks.

Most plants in containers could do with a feed after about 4 weeks.

They were withdrawn for quite a few years, not sure if it was because the were succeptable to the blight or if it was eel worm or something.

Wouldn't hurt to spray with Bordeaux mix :)
