Just bought a house.. This is all over the place.

So I just bought a house, and these are in the back yard, and sprouting up all over the place. I am a bit worried as we had similar ones to these where I was growing up and we could not get rid of them. Roundup seemed to feed them! (Okay, not that bad, but still, it did not kill it.)
So, what is it, and how do I get rid of it? I am located in Northern Ontario if that helps. I have attached 2 pictures, one of the plant from the side, and another from the top. Feel free to ask me to send other pictures if needed.

That looks like a jewelweed to me. We had some ornamental jewelweed trouble many years ago, and your pics look very similar. I'm just guessing though. They are an invasive plant for sure. We eventually had to uproot most of them. Cutting them didn't always do the trick. Best of luck.

himalayan balsam- weed
