Ludisia discolor is blooming later this year, but blooming late is better than not blooming at all. Most jewel orchids are grown for the leaves and not the flowers, the leaves on this one are dark green with red veins, there are lots of different colored leaves but most of the flower are small and white about a 1/2 inch to 1 inch when fully opened.with any where from 12 flower to 24 on one spike, on got 6 spikes this year.

It looks really pretty! I like it very much, because it's so different from most plants I've ever seen.

I like it because its easy to grow and not like most orchids this one will grow in potting soil as long as it drains well and not left with wet roots all the time.

Oh wow, your orchids look like dancers and so pretty! I don't think I have seen this type of orchids before, even at the Conservatory around here.
