it`s june - what can i grow

i live in n.c. pretty hot here well we are from n.y. and 2 yrs. ago we moved well for some reason the veggies [ not all ] but some don`t get as big as they did in n.y. - maybe the soil i don`t know my question is i would like to plant AGAIN - what veggies will start up right now or should i wait till july

When is you average date of first frost? Count backwards from that date to find optimum date to plant. You can probably plant okra and for sure beans now as well as melons. If you can find some nice big cherry tomato plants they will work too.
