ISO Insuk's Wang Kong runner bean

I'm looking for seed for Insuk's Wang Kong runner bean. I don't have anything to trade. Will pay postage +$

I searched all suppliers I'm aware of and none offered it.

I did find this however,

"Named after his wife Insuk by Gardenweb member Jim Wright. Brought to Seattle in the 1960s by Korean community members; may have come from China originally. "Wang kong" is Korean for "king bean," which is their name for runner beans."

Apparently Jim Wright has been the source for these seeds in USA. It is an interesting bean and I would get in line to buy some seed also...if I knew where the line was.

From what I found there is a SSE (seed savers exchange) that is a non profit organization that focuses on preserving heirloom seeds. Members often list rare varieties including Insusk's Wang Kong. Check exchange.seedsavers.org

That is the option available to USA.. I could check over seas but non offer shipment to USA.

I haven't checked the site but if possible to post I would post a "looking for". Otherwise, keep an eye on it until someone offers some. I will check over seas, someone must offer them internationally.

Sounds like possibly Korean origin.

farmHannong, Jenong S&T, Kwonnong seed. They can ship internationally and at least one of them should have the seeds. And yes, the seeds are Korean.

I can dive deeper into the endless cloud of online but hopefully one of those three mentioned has them. They do at some point, but like all seed companies supply and demand only lasts so long each growing year for many heirlooms.

Surprisingly I had no luck in all three...and that with translation in effect.

You know... I'm thinking whoever has these in USA and/or North America may have a gold mine corner on the market. It really does sound like a desirable bean seed.

This is the first time I've ever had trouble finding someone online lol. I will have to try DeepSeek AI from China.. if that doesn't find it the world is doomed lol.
