Hello everybody.
I am new here and to say the least a gardening novice.
About two months ago during very high winds one of the two trees we have at the bottom of the garden blew over pulling up and exposing the roots, i was not able to do anything about it for several weeks, so it just remained there on the ground for that time.
When i was able, the tree was put upright, roots buried and the trunk supported by attaching it to a post. The tree is now unsupported but compared to its twin it looks very unhealthy, at least i think so but then i don't really know enough about this subject, which is why i am here.
I don't even know what type of tree this is.

In this picture the tree on the right is the poor bugger which was blown over.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or opinion on the condition of this tree.

Several weeks with roots exposed? That is one tough tree! Only time will tell, but it looks as if your tree will survive. Give it a bit more water than usual (there was root loss during its ordeal) and don't fertilize. Let us know how it turns out.
I can't help with identifying the tree, but I'm sure some of our more knowledgeable gardeners will be able to pinpoint it for you.

Sorry to hear about your tree, but I'm glad to see it seems to have survived the ordeal. Like @marlingardener rightly says, the best approach is just give it a little TLC and hope for the best... time will tell.

Some close up photos of the leaves would help with identifying it (y)

It does look like it will survive! As others have said, time will tell.

The only thing I would add is that if it was pulled up 2 months ago and sat several weeks... you might want to support the trunk a little longer. I'm just worried it might not have grown back enough to roots to hold it against another strong wind!

I can't tell for sure but that looks like a type of willow tree, possibly a Crack Willow. If it is they are very resilient and they are a hard tree to kill. As said before keep it well watered and don't fertilize it. If it is a willow it is a softwood tree which means it can take a lot of abuse. It will take 2 or 3 years to determine survival and/or a tree that is stunted. Keep dead wood removed and make sure the tree is not rigidly bound, that is to let it move in the wind.
