Hello all
Last fall I bought a small laurel to put on my balcony. I repotted it into a slightly larger pot and that was it. It seemed fine through the winter (I live in Switzerland but we had a very mild winter with very little snow where I live). When spring started to kick in, the leaves started to brown along the edges. I made sure that it had adequate water throughout the winter/spring, the pot drains well and the weather has been mild.
The plant/balcony setting
Beginning of the leaf browning:
The entire bush turned:
It happened very evenly on each leaf;
I shoved a couple of houseplant feeding sticks into the soil a month ago, but it did no good. Most of the original leaves have died but the plant put out a whole host of new growth. I can see the tips of some of the new leaves starting to turn, so whatever it was hasn't been fixed.
Thank you for your help with this - I miss having a garden and am new at container gardens.
