I love this shrub

I saw several specimens near San Francisco Bay. They grow to about 5 feet tall. I love the 'flower', if that is what it is. The flower is about 6-8 inches long.

What is the name? I will try to buy one.

Seems like you can only buy seeds on internet. I ordered some. Though, I have not had good success with seeds in other cases.

Yes, Echium - a most majestic plant, a bit phallic! And t there are different colours. Very prickly though!
