I planted a Hydrangea in RI three years ago and it gets ample sun but it has never flowered. Any suggestions?

Have you checked the soil ph? Generally blue flowered hydrangea prefers a ph slightly below 6 and pink at or slightly above 6.

Do you know the type you have?

No- I can get it tested by the state but it takes some time to get the result--I will check it out though

Too much shade will keep Hydrangea from blooming. Hydrangea need several hours of morning Sun with shade in the evening to flower. Hot environments with evening sun will prevent Hydrangea from flowering.
