I am propagating a lot of figs of my single variety. To trade my plants, for cuttings with my local fellow fig growers. To have new varieties and to share figs with friends and family and birds. My goal is to start with one variety. An trade this one variety for many new ones. Have any of you tried this to get more varieties? I got one person interested in a upcoming trade locally so far. An wonder what's a good fair trade?

I got my collection growing from starting with one variety. An trading with other fig growers locally. I encourage everyone to trade varieties with other growers. An encourage people to grow. I gave a away some plants to family members who were very happy.
Now I am growing my collection with different delicious varieties. My friend this lady said she will get me some white fig cuttings! My plan is working :) I'm continue my quest on trading more with more people. See how many different local varieties. I can see an hear peoples stories about why they grow figs. An helps me learn why the fig history changing here. Some people have old heirloom fig varieties from old generation but, dislike figs. I never tasted a fig until late in life.

Started with 1 variety of fig. Multiplied it was nl easy task though. Out of hundreds of cutting not a lot survived because they need a lot of extra care. But, I managed to trade for two new extra varieties! I achieved my goal to gain more new fig varieties. I am happy now that my idea. Really helped local growers and myself. It's amazing what free fig plants can do.
