This is in relation to growing strawberries in a greenhouse in the UK. However, I'm guessing the same will apply all over the strawberry growing world!

I remember when I was a child we kept the same plants for years, we would peg them down in the winter, then with a bit of TLC would bet berries year in year out. However, I've had the same plants for just 2 years and they're looking a bit sorry for themselves! I've had a bit of a google and apparently you are supposed to replace them every few few years? I'm sure I don't remember my mum doing this?

I replace mine every three years.
I only keep June-bearers, and I replace them immediately they've fruited for the third time, so that they are big enough and established enough to produce a good crop the following summer.
