Out of curiosity, I asked AI "how many jalapenos can one plant produce?

Answer: 25 to 35 o_O LOL That is an order of magnitude lower than my normal production which runs about 300 peppers per season per plant.

Three plants produced these ends of season 305 jalapenos after a long production/harvesting season starting in March. Started from saved seeds (several years of generations) in March and harvested several times during the long growing season.

No synthetic fertilizers used. Never sprayed with insecticides or fungal chemicals. Grown in "No N P K required" garden soil. Treated with Epsom salts and composted cow manure.

Here's the three plants...looking a little droopy after a frost last night but I think they survived it.

I've never counted my jalepeno harvest but I'm guessing about 25 per plant. My growing time is less than yours is. I also dont grow them every year because I can them and can not eat them that fast.

Yes, that definitely makes a difference. The fall production here is something to behold. After a long hot summer, the plants literally explode with blooms and then peppers.

It would depend on your zone. They are indeterminate which means they can live until something kills it, disease, insects, animals or human.

I would think a more mature plant will produce more than my 1 season zone 5b plant. Variety will also play a factor as newer plant crosses will flower more.
