How far away from tree base when fertilizing?

When you fertilize fruit trees, how far away from the tree trunk should you spread fertilizer? 1 foot or 2 feet from the base and all the way to the drip line?

That is correct. Just keep it off of the trunk and any exposed roots.

my great uncle Eddy always said use the square root method meaning do a square dance around the tree making sure the fertilizer don’t touch the roots or trunk. Also never use commercial fertilizers such as
Mirecal grow bad for the environment and your mouth once those yummy veggies are in.
