Honey suckle

can anyone tell me why the branch I’m touching on a honey suckle always dies off when I touch it?

"Always" I have mine draping on my deck. No issues when I touch mine.

Yes always……I’ve tried wearing gloves, being extra careful and using different things to tie it but it always happens ‍
