Hello all!
I recently moved into a new house, and would love help identifying the variety of gardenia by my deck. I have two identical bushes whose characteristics do not quite fit any single gardenia variety that I've seen online.
1. These bushes are already >8.5 ft tall and based on prior pruning look like they will be much taller (~10ft).
2. I live in zone 7b, which typically necessitates a hardier variety. However, the height of my bushes totally outstrips any hardy varieties that I can find!
3. The flowers do not quite match the frostproof gardenia (my outermost blossom petals are not as full; more spoke-like). Moreover, frostproof bushes are closer to 4-5ft. Other cold-hardy gardenias do not clearly match my bush's leaves or blossoms.
Pictures are included here, any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
