Hi,

We have this hydrangea in our backyard and it is not doing well. My understanding is these will bloom for awhile, but this has been blooming for maybe 2 weeks at most? The flowers are definitely wilting and the stems seem to be losing some strength. We have been watering it well even through this brutal heat wave the PNW has been experiencing (100 degrees today and 102 tomorrow). What are your suggestions?

I think you are either over watering it or not watering deeply enough. Eventhough it's hot, a deep watering once a week is much better than frequent shallow waterings. Shallow frequent watering keeps the soil soggy at the crown but never reaches the feeder roots that are over a foot down.
