Hello there! I'm new in this website, and brand new to gardening as well!

I want to plant a vegetable and herb garden for my 7 month old son, so I can feed him organic vegetables.

I have the choice to plant in the soil, but I do not want to take up all my garden for vegetables, so I was thinking to plant them in pots, like in the picture attached. My question is the following:

Will my vegetables by influenced by the material of the pot? I know it sounds silly, but if the pot is aluminum which is carcinogenic and shouldn't be cooked in, will it influence the vegetables? Will they still be organic?

Thank you in advance

A dedicated raised bed is a better option, as it's a far simpler and easier area to control; which may be useful to busy parent(s)

Welcome.

AFAIK we're all amateurs too.
