Help please

I have several of these trees lining my driveway and don't know what they are. They give off little helicopter seeds, very pretty. My English friend remembers them as a child in England but doesn't remember the name. They have a very textured bark. I was hoping someone would recognise it for us. We'd both love to know

Based on your description I think it’s a maple. A clear picture of the leaves and seeds would help fine-tune the id.

The leaves are diagnostic for Trident Maple, Acer buergeranum. Awesome fall color.
