I was hoping someone here could help me figure out what’s wrong with my begonia!
It’s a begonia albo-picta, so it’s a cane begonia. I got it from my botany class lab section. I love the little guy .
But we’ve got some issues.
Yesterday, I noticed many-a-gnats on my windowsill and I figured they came from the window, considering their placement. They didn’t seem to be anywhere else, so I sprayed them and cleaned them up.
I found more again today than I did yesterday and my boyfriend, who has the room next to mine in the apartment, didn’t have any gnats hanging out on his window sill, soooo clearly the issue lies within my room.
I picked up my begonia and dropped it lightly on my desk and I saw a bunch of gnats fall out the bottom. I immediately re-soiled and re-potted the little guy with the soil I had on hand (miracle grow indoor potting mix). I hope it fares well with the stress and the new soil...
But now the real issue. My poor b. albo-picta. I sat down and really examined my plant for the first time in a week or two and I’ve noticed a bunch of the tips of the leaves browning or even shriveling away. I saw two spots early on when I got the plant, but they didn’t spread at all and they were only on two separate leaves. Now, I’ve found multiple leaves with them and I’m starting to worry.
Does anyone know how to help me? I’ll attach some pictures of what he’s dealing with.
I appreciate any and all help!!! Thank you!
