Hi, I’m trying to locate the graft site on my dwarf variegated pink lemon tree. I’ve noticed it has grown more like a shrub with branches everywhere and close to roots. It had produced tons of flower but patchy on leaves. I just want to make sure it is growing branches and not rootstocks. Leaves seem normal and fruit looks normal. Any help on this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like you have found the graft union. Right there where the multiple stems come together.

This was pruned unnaturally unfortunately, where the center branch was taken out to encourage lower lateral branch growth - hence, the shrub like growth.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m just worried about sucker branches. Hate to invest all this time on it to be bad fruit. I guess I can see how to fruit taste and go from there. Thank you for taking the time to respond and helping me confirm what I thought.

Any growth occuring below the graft union is what you would want to remove - origination from the root stock. The rest is entirely up to you as to what to prune. Less is more, since everytime you prune, you introduce shoots which may not be wanted.
