I've recently purchased another aloe but I seem to be having some problems. Any help?
Key notes:
-Worried about dark/dead bits on the leaves
-black balls which seem to be around areas of shrunken leaves
-larvae?? (Circled in yellow)

Your soil is staying too wet. Aloe's like a lot of dry time between waterings. Aloes need six to eight hours of direct sun, although some shade is ok if you have plenty of sun prior to the shade. My large aloe is growing under fluorescent lights 14 hrs a day with only one watering a month. I have two pups like yours growing in cups they only get water every 10 to 15 days.
