Hi everyone,

Alyn from State College, PA here. My family and I have had a small garden for the past few years, but we want to take it next level this summer and construct some raised beds. Goals are to grow lots of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, hot peppers, and other various vegetables. Probably a few small fruits too.

Looking forward to getting started and getting lots of info here!

Hello there, LPcreation! Welcome to the forum! It sounds like you have a really interesting project in mind, what are you planing to use in the making of those raised beds? Wood? Cinder blocks? Whatever your plans are, I'm sure you will find a lot useful tips and info here.

Thanks for the welcome! I planned out 2 8x8 foot beds made out of cedar boards. I picked up the lumber last weekend and plan on cutting/assembly this week. I have plans for 1 bed being a "salsa" garden (tomatoes, herbs, peppers, onions, garlic), and the other bed will be for lettuce, with 1 row of sunflowers for shade.

Should be a great learning experience!
