Hello! I'm from Philadelphia, zone 6. I have raised beds in my yard, in which I love to go play. My daughter is excited to help me this year. She never really had an interest in gardening before, so this is exciting for both of us. I also have the front yard, which is only flowers (and a small cherry tree in a pot,) and a couple of self watering planters.

Every year, I grow tomatoes (cherry and regular, and this year, jelly bean,) cucumbers, peppers (red,) sweet basil, and parsley. This year, I'm attempting oregano, rosemary, stevia, and garlic. Any advice is appreciated.

I'm looking at putting some raised beds in my yard this year too! Only a small portion of my yard gets a decent amount of sunshine so that's where they'll have to go!
We're also doing tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and basil this summer, and have sage and rosemary already established. They seem to grow well here!

I love homegrown cucumbers. I don't like tomatoes, but my family does. My younger daughter picks the cherry tomatoes off the vine and eats them like candy.

I loooove cherry tomatoes just as a snack! I do that too - I'll grab a bunch of ripe ones off the vine and before you know it they're all gone! It's great having that satisfaction of having grown it yourself too and getting to eat it, especially when they're so yummy!

Yes! I have to keep track of how many she eats right now, though. She's not even 2, so she's not potty trained. the acid from the tomatoes will cause diaper rash sometimes. We also love to just pop strawberries off the vine and devour them. Now, those, I could eat all day long.

It's so wonderful that your daughter got interested in this because of you, I can only hope that if I ever have children the same thing will happen :) Enjoy this time, because gardening will surely help you create so many fond memories :)
