It's is just great to be here and I am hoping to acquire a lot of knowledge that will result in me having a better back yard garden. I am a 33 year old Jamaican who enjoys gardening; I have a little back yard garden were I grow tomatoes, scotch bonnet pepper, okra, rosemary, peppermint, passion fruit and pumpkin. In the future I planning to try doing cabbage and see how it goes as this is one of my favorite veggie.:)

Hi kammie!
I bet you can grow all kinds of stuff down there all year. Does it stay warm all year? Here in south Louisiana we can grow different things in the winter too. Very lucky and keeps us gardeners as busy as we want to be. They say hurricane season will be nice to us this year.

Nice location post pics I love seeing all the different setups. I'm in southern Mississippi on the gulf and we too get pretty long seasons

South Mississippi is about like us here in New Orleans... a little colder I think unless you're right on the gulf. Check out all my pics on my Facebook page.

The warmer climates have it made, when I lived in California I got spoiled, I could grow something all year round. Back on the East Coast I have winter which was a bear this past year, it is just beginning to same warm thru the night. I put my pineapple plant out to soon the cold nights may have taken their toil on the plant.

Tommy it's almost warm all year long because even when it's rainy season the time is still humid. Right now it's very hot where I am; got to be drinking lots of water.

Tommy i feel your pain; as for cold I don't think I have really experienced that sort of climate; it's more like sunshine all year round.
