Hello from Cajun Country

Hi All,

I'm Jeff and have been growing mostly vegetables for the past few years. I mostly grow cucumbers and pumpkins (when the squash vine borer doesn't get them) in my humble backyard garden. This year I'm trying to not kill a peach tree. I've lived in southern Louisiana for nearly twenty years and still can't stand the heat. Fortunately, most of my plants can!

Welcome from East Texas...very similar weather to yours.

Peaches are somewhat difficult to grow here...not enough chilling hours for many varieties...so low chilling hour varieties are critical.

Yep. The tree I got requires about 300 chilling hours, so hopefully it will do alright.
