I grew up working with my grandma in her huge garden with flowers all around her 16 acre property. I love gardening and nature is my passion but since moving out I have not been able to have a garden. I have lived in a apartment for the last 4 years and have not been able to afford investing in gardening on my balcony but this year I am determined! I want a garden so bad I am going to make it happen and hopefully I can get some suggestions through this forum. I am use to just putting things straight in the ground so container gardening is complete new to me. I plan on having a bunch of different herbs, a few different kinds of flowers which will also probably double as medicinal, strawberries, blueberries, some leafy greens, and some root vegetables. I really hope I can make it work this year!

You can do it and will be successful also! I have a yard and a little garden area so I have added on pots around my house, and they work out wonderfully. Mint is best to grow in pot as they won't taken over the entire area, and they are great to have in salad, making water lemon mint drink. I also plant basil, thyme, rosemary and cilantro in pots. So I don't think you should be worry too much!

Gardening in containers is fun, you will need to plan a little more as to what you want to grow. Containers can be towers that will give you more room to grow plants and still have space on your balcony. Good luck. There is information here on the forum that can help you.
