Hi there! I am currently growing my own beefsteak tomatoes, there are about 30 tomatoes at any one time. I also have 4 quince bushes. The quince fruits are sparse but the flowers are absolutely gorgeous. I also have many irises growing upfront, they range in purple, from very deep royal purple (my favorite) to lighter shades and some are dual-tone white. It's been a stormy year in California preceded by draught years 3 years in a row prior so that is affecting the plants.

I know it doesn't rain much in California, but have you considered collecting the water when it does? I know in some parts of the state there are restrictions about watering your garden when there's a drought going on and saving water would help. Are your tomatoes a drought tolerant variety?

Hi there! Welcome to the forum! I love quince fruit! Is it hard to grow were you live? I'm planning to grow a lot stuff once I move out I doubt I can grow quince bushes in the place where I'm going, but oh well! During the dry season using gray water helps to keep your plants watered. I have used water I boiled eggs in to water my garden and there is a way to route the laundry water to your garden also.

Oh, quince jelly--I made lots of it when we lived up north and I miss it now. Welcome to the forum, and I'm sure you can find inventive ways to save/harvest water for your plants. We'll help with any ideas or suggestions we may have.
