Hi All, new to the forum and hoping you can help. Last spring, I planned a hedge using 26 green giant arborvitaes in a zig zag pattern. The soil is well draining and I watered the trees 2 to 3x per week during the summer ( we had significant drought conditions). By fall, the trees all looked great and had grown aggressively. Yay! As we came out of winter and into spring, I noticed that several the trees had turned various shades of brown. On tree had a deer rub it, so I expected to lose it but the others I'm at a loss. Any insight? Are they to far gone or can they be saved?

I'm relatively new to this, so any troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.

Any that are completely brown are dead. A half-strength dose of miracle-gro can get others going again. Did you have exceptionally cold temps this winter?

Yes, we had a cold snap that hit -10 for a couple of nights. The rest of the winter was normal. I'm in northwest arkansas so lows average in the mid 20s.
