I watched an interview where the point was made that under heat stress plants make different proteins and in so doing lose immunity to disease and crop yields are lowered. I wanted to know more, the name of the protein and what if anything I could learn about the familial chemistry that must be going on around such changes as I see in my tomatoes and other veggies during our hot summers. I found this article so I at least now have a name. Lots more reading to do as it seems a lot of interesting work is being done in this area to improve heat resistance in food crops.
