I have always been fascinated by this carnivorous plant. Maybe its uniqueness, but then, there are so many plants with interesting attributes and perculiar characteristics.

Currently, I am the proud owner of two beautiful specimens. A hard lesson that I have learned is to never let them bloom, otherwise the chances of survival after bloom are drastically reduced. Yet, after a few years tending for these plants I am intrigued in learning how to propagate them. I have been told that its flowers are sterile, is this true? Did any one of you manage to propagate these plants successfully?

Wow, I never even considered this. Really cool idea! I would give this a shot too, but I live in a temperate country.

I don't think its flowers are sterile, that wouldn't make any sense. If it was, how can it reproduce?

A quick google search told me that it is indeed possible to get seeds if you pollinate the flower you let bloom. :)

Really? Do you have pictures? I have never seen one in person, but I think that they are very interesting plants.

I've never grown or propagated one because the only ones I've seen in person at an exotic plant store, looked sick and small so I didn't buy any.
I think they're really cool looking plants but they're not easy to get in my area.

I checked this website http://www.flytrapcare.com/ and they sell fly trap seeds. They are somehow expensive though. They also have guides on how to raise these plants. I am interested, but my mother will not allow me!

I have a friend who did it, but he is an specialist in plants. No idea how he did it tho, since I have never been interested in those plants. I might ask him later how he did it tho, your post made me curious :)
